Hartley Hampton calls on the knowledge, experience and insight of medical professionals, starting with Valerie Purcell, RN, MBA, CPHQ, who serves as a registered nurse consultant.
Valerie has a unique combination of extensive experience as a clinical nurse and as a nurse administrator in health care quality management and risk management. Valerie has a Masters Degree in Health Care Administration and has national board certification in Healthcare Quality Management. She has directed the medical staff quality management program for a major Texas Medical Center hospital and in doing so has developed both a wide knowledge base and deep insight into clinical processes.
Valerie has spent years both in hospitals and as a nurse consultant analyzing how hospital and clinical processes sometimes go awry, and determining how those misadventures may have harmed patients.
Valerie has developed a large network of well respected physicians and healthcare providers she can call to serve as expert consultants in the evaluation of care provided to patients who have had unexpected or undesirable outcomes.
Valerie works closely with Mr. Hampton and his staff to determine from medical records and other documents what happened to a patient, to evaluate how the health care delivery went for that individual and with the aid of expert consultants to determine whether the care met applicable standards of care. In those situations where a deviation from standards of care appears to have occurred, Valerie further assists Mr. Hampton to develop the case including securing high quality medical experts and preparing for depositions and trial.
